This gallery contains photos captured during our REI hiking tour in the Umbria region of Italy in early fall 2015. We joined two guides and and seven other hikers in a trek from Assisi to Rome along pieces of the Vie Francigena.

The Via Francigena is an ancient pilgrimage trail winding from Cantebury, England to Rome. Parts of the trail are on the remains of Roman era roads and bridges.

The photos are arranged in roughly chronological order of our eight days of hiking. But, it is intended to provide snapshots from this adventure as opposed to a comprehensive record of the trek.
