Light within the forest canopy can be fleetingly dramatic, especially in the coastal forest where fog and cloud cover can change quickly. This scene evaporated within a moment after the photo was taken.

I was trekking out to the tip of Cape Lookout to do some video capture with the drone. The trail zig zags through a deep forest of large mature pine and the wreckage leftover of multiple storms that have passed over this exposed point of land. This forest light appeared and I stopped to capture the moment...
