I am presently serving as a volunteer photographer/image archivist for the Cascades Volcano Observatory (CVO), a unit of the USGS. The CVO continues to monitor Mt. St. Helens, the most active volcano in the "lower forty-eight" states. Mt. St. Helens is about forty-five miles (72 km) away from Vancouver, Washington.
