Red Mountain and Moon
This "red mountain" is Mt. San Jacinto which determines the western edge of California's Anza-Borrego desert. This photo was captured at sunrise making the mountain appear "red" against the dark blue near night sky still lingering overhead.br/br/br/The steep escarpment of Mt. San Jacinto climbs over 10,000 feet (3,000 m) in 7 miles (11 km) making it one of the largest gains in elevation over such a small horizontal distance in the contiguous United States.
