The Road to Rock Glen

A narrow road outside of Clifden Ireland leads to Rock Glen, a former hotel that had been quot;abandoned, quot; but is presently being rebuilt.

Family quot;mythologyquot; has it that my grandfather was born at Rock Glen in 1886 when it was a private residence. Thirty years ago, when it was a fancy hotel with an even fancier dining room, my brother and I and our spouces showed up for dinner in our American style travel attire (Lynnae and I were traveling by tandem bicycle so you can guess as to how we looked). We were politely directed to the darlkest part of the dining area.

The hotel was quot;abandonedquot; in the 1990's and fell into considerable disrepair. On this walk, I could see that it may have been purchased and there was construction going on. So, Rock Glen may live on.

Photographer's Note: I am presently traveling with only a pad device. Consequently, this photo was processed using two Android apps, one a RAW processor and the other having some limited shadow and hilight adjustments. Output files are smaller than those otherwise usually posted.
