Molinos Church (three)

Located in the small town of Molinos, Argentina, I was fascinated by this church ndash; its architecture and the attention to its lighting at night. The photo was captured in June 2015. We were on a hiking tour of northwest Argentina and Molinos was, perhaps, the more remote of any of our stops. Though it was winter for the southern hemisphere and we were at about the 6,000 feet (1,800 m) altitude, the temperature was perfect on the night of our visit. I was able to easily set up the camera/tripod for extended shutter release times.

I capture photos in RAW format. This permits me to go back to the original image as captured by the camera, ldquo;revisitrdquo; the image and ldquo;start over.rdquo; Sometimes the ldquo;start overrdquo; can be prompted by a new concept of how to finish the image, new software tools or a new understanding on how to apply the software tools I have. This photo was a combination of all three. I had ldquo;discardedrdquo; the image for processing last year owing to some difficulties. But, two of software platforms were upgraded and I learned a few more techniques to bring this image to a satisfactory presentation. A small gallery (13 images) of night/low light photos captured in Argentina (which includes additional photos of this church) can be viewed at:
