Forty-two years ago we had hoped to take the ferry to Drummond Island. But, we were poor then ... and did the numbers. We figured out we could not pay the fee for the ferry and have enough gas money to get home. Our fortunes have changed in those four decades!

We stayed overnight on the island and rose early to capture the morning light. Fantastic fall day in Michigan's Uppoer Peninsula (quot;the Yoopquot;).
