This Renaissance era stone table is placed in a "shelter" within the elaborate gardens of Villa Lante which is located near Viterbo, Italy. The gardens include a long outdoor dining table where local nobles and wealthy could gather for feasts. This "shelter" and table may have been used as sort of a prep kitchen by serving staff. Or,... perhaps it was a place for more private dining.
