Our condo in Salem, Oregon is on the fourth floor with floor to ceiling (almost) windows looking south and west. We have an unobstructed view. Earlier this month we finished dinner and saw the clouds were going to give us a spectacular evening sky. So, we quickly packed up the camera equipment and drove off to some photopoints nearby.

This image was captured about fifteen miles east of Salem where the Willamette Valley begins to ascend into the foothills of the Cascades. The view looks northwest. The mountains on the horizon are the Coastal Range on the west side of the Willamette Valley.
