It stopped raining for a day (it also got into the 70's F for the second time this year). On the advice of coworkers, I rode my bike up the Chehalis Western Trail to the Woodard Bay Natural Resources Conservation Area. From a trailhead, there is a short trail following an abandoned road leading to the Henderson Inlet on the South Puget Sound. Parts of this trail wound through a thick Pacific Northwest coastal forest. This week's image was captured along the trail.
This image captures how the Pacific Northwest forest once appeared. Though sunny, the thick forest canopy kept the forest floor shaded and damp. I had to do some post-imaging exposure adjustments in the software to adjust for the limitations of the digital photo sensor.
