We took a long weekend to tour parts of Vancouver Island (west coast of Canada) we had never before seen as well as return to some of favorite places. The weather is a guess this time of year, but we took a chance. On the first full day of the tour we watched as the season's first major storm came in off the Pacific...
The next morning we woke in Campbell River (BC) to amazingly clear skies. We followed the suggestion of our innkeeper and did a short hike to Elk Falls, only a few kms from downtown. It was a great hike through a thick and damp Pacific Northwest forest ending at this overlook of Elk Falls.
