Motorcycle Diaries
A large billboard on the main road through Matanzas extols the citizens to go ever onward to victory.
Pictured here is Che Guevara, a Marxist revolutionary and confidant of Fidel Castro in the Revolution. The motorcycle that happened to be next to the billboard is somewhat symbolic. As a young medical student from Argentina, Ernesto Guevara toured much of South America on a motorcycle. During that tour, he observed the horrific working conditions of copper miners in Chile. It was then he decided South America required "a continent-wide liberation strategy."
Note the splotch of something on Che's chin. A comment from a local?
