We have had a place at Tierra Del Mar for a quarter century now. It is a small community of homes only (no stores, etc.) located between a state park, a state natural area, followed by another state park. US 101 is inland here and the "coast road" is a narrow County road. As a result, 98% of the tourists never find it.

This video was captured on a spectacular (and unexpected) fall day. We have had record rain so far this year. But, on this afternoon, the sky cleared and the downpour paused. I walked a mile north from our house to the end of a "spit" where the Sand Lake Estuary flows into the ocean at lowering tide.
