The Louvre - The Moat
The Louvre occupies the site of the 12th-century fortress of King Philip Augustus, also called the Louvre. The original medieval front entrance and what was the moat is viewable in the basement level and it called the "Medieval Louvre" department. This photo was captured from what was the bottom of the moat.
