Captured above the bridge to Whalen Island, this photo shows sea water surging into the fresh waters of the Whalen Island Estuary. Normally, sea water does not flow this far into the estuary, but this photo was taken at the peak of a "king tide" event where there is a very high/strong tidal flow. "King tides" happen only a couple time of the year. The Whalen Island Estuary is located on the Oregon coast.
