Short Beach is located immediately south of Cape Mears State Park (you can see Cape Mears in the background). It is a favorite spot with a waterfall (not in this photo) and a sizable sea stack (shown). The beach can be rocky or sandy, depending on the surf and weather. Getting to it requires knowing where to stop on the road and carefully descending a steep stairway which is often damp and slippery. But, the effort is worth it all.

I captured this photo while on the beach using my Mavic Pro drone which could be maneuvered into a position to get the sea stack, the beach and Cape Mears in the frame. This photo is just not possible using conventional photo equipment.
