Just before the sun sets, the foothills forming the southern edge of Joshua Tree National Park light up for a brief couple of minutes. This photo image was captured only miles away from the cosmopolitan towns of Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage, California. Yet, the location remains as remote as when early twentieth century film crews used these hills for backdrops to innumerable “B-Westerns.”
