Night descends on a classic New York City skyline. The photo was captured from a rooftop bar in lower Manhattan in 2019.
Sometimes the imperfections of a photo can be overlooked for the image in its totality. This photo is a perfect example. It was windy and cold when I grabbed the photo. I should have been smarter in the camera settings. I should have brought a tripod (I thought I was only going for drinks). As a result, there is a measure of image blur from the hand held camera shake. But, the image is iconic and that transcends all the technical flaws.
I was attending a photo workshop in NYC and the cohorts had arranged a rendezvous at this rooftop bar. The bar was an indoor venue, but there was a patio for the warmer months. So, I stepped outside briefly to try to capture the light of the city.
