Civita is located ob the top of a free standing tuff (see: a href="http://eruttledge.zenfolio.com/p970908293/h569c4bb4#h569c4bb4"; target="_self"http://eruttledge.zenfolio.com/p970908293/h569c4bb4#h569c4bb4/a ). It is exposed to the various shifts in the weather, often variable in its exposed position. This afternoon, we had a brief wind storm thrashing the trees and tourists ... and me ... as I was trying to photo document the classic doors of the town. I retreated, ... capturing this photo of the trees being blown about.br/ br/The area to the right of this photo had been the home of San Bonaventura (13th century), Civita's most quot;famous son.quot; Unfortunately, his home collapsed during an earthquake in in 1695 and no longer exists.
