This morning an obelisk was erected in the very middle of Piazza San Donato, the town's main square. It is an art installation as part of something called Algoritmo, a weekend art and music collection in Civita. Algoritmo describes itself as follows:br/ br/ quot;The art follows the thread ceaseless change of visual messages imagining new dimensions of expression. Algorithm , 18 to 20 September in Civita di Bagnoregio tries to trace these paths with the idea of defining ambitiously new instructions for the use of this contemporary narratives that refuses twentieth century.quot;br/ br/ Well ... alrighty then! On this particular installation all I could think of (this dates me) was the early scenes of 2001 Space Odyssey. Then there's the plaintiff question (pan to Richard Dryfuss in Close Encounters); quot;What does it mean??!!quot;
