The Willamette Valley of Oregon is known for all manner of commercial agricultural endeavors, including berries, hops, grass seed, vineyards, peach and pear orchards ... and Irises. One of the largest Iris plantations in the valley is just north of Salem - which is home for us when not at the house on the Oregon coast. Captured at peak bloom, this photo was given a bit of artistic rendition... inspired somewhat by a visit to a large Monet gallery show I saw last week at the de Young Museum in San Francisco.
